My name is Kiara Janzen. I grew up in Kamloops B.C and I am currently attending Thompson Rivers University. I have been in post secondary for years and it wasn’t until this year that I took my first history course. I have now taken two history courses and for the most part I find the content of the courses really fascinating and I learnt a lot of things. I am aspiring to get into the BeD program here at TRU in the future. I think a big part of education is learning about the past events in our society and different ways in which they can be perceived. It’s like that study they completed on several individuals where an event took place and they all have their own unique perception on the same event. That’s why history is so interesting because everyone has different experiences for the same occurrence. History has  allowed me to think outside of the box which is a skill that is useful in life. I am sad I didn’t take a history class sooner, I look forward to taking more in the future.
